Capricornus

Capricornus: A constellation of the zodiac that is represented by a sea goat, a mythical creature that is half goat, half fish.
Stars and deep sky objects: A faint constellation with only one star above magnitude 3, but contains several galaxies, star clusters, and a planet (Neptune).
History and mythology: One of the oldest constellations, dating back to the Babylonians, who associated it with their god Ea. In Greek mythology, it is linked to Amalthea, the goat that nursed Zeus, or Pan, the god who escaped from Typhon by turning into a fish. The December solstice used to occur in this constellation until 130 BCE.
Alternative visualizations: Different ways of connecting the stars of Capricornus, such as H. A. Rey's goat figure, or the Chinese Black Tortoise of the North.
